Migrazo Suite

InfraScope support

VMware estate assessment & VCF 9 readiness

Point InfraScope at vCenter. It reads the estate, scores it against Broadcom's published compatibility data for your target release, and hands back the remediation plan — entirely inside your own network.

  • Air-gapped by design
  • No telemetry
  • No call home
  • Licence verified offline

How the readiness score reads

85–100

Ready

Cleared for the target release.

70–84

Minor gaps

Upgradeable with named remediations.

50–69

At risk

Material blockers — plan before committing.

0–49

Blocked

Cannot reach this release as it stands.

An empty estate scores zero, not one hundred. InfraScope never reports readiness it has not observed.

Help topics

Discovery that stays current

Register vCenter Server, SDDC Manager, VCF Fleet Manager, NSX Manager, Aria Suite Lifecycle or Dell VxRail Manager. Each source syncs hourly, six-hourly, daily or weekly. A credential is tested before it is stored, and a sync that fails part-way leaves the previous inventory intact rather than half-replacing it.

Compatibility against the real HCL

Every host's model, firmware and PCI devices matched against Broadcom's published data for your target release: supported, unsupported, or manual-verify. Manual-verify is reported as manual-verify — InfraScope does not guess when the HCL is silent.

A readiness score you can defend

0–100, weighted 50% hardware, 30% drivers and 20% software. A supported item scores full credit, one needing manual verification scores half, an unsupported one scores none. Every check that fed the score is listed, and a check that did not apply is excluded from the denominator rather than counted as a pass.

Remediation, not just findings

Each failing check carries the specific fix and can be marked resolved, skipped or re-checked as you work through it, so the plan tracks reality. The score itself stays as it was: it records what the estate looked like when the run happened, and the way to move it is to re-run the analysis.

The delivery programme

Twenty-two rows in three views — Plan, Timeline and RACI — with gates, freeze windows, a risk register and an escalation path. Exportable to Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Air-gapped operation

No outbound connection is required for any of it. Licences are Ed25519-signed and verified offline against a file staged on the appliance. Credentials are encrypted at rest with Fernet, and passwords never appear in the audit log.

Getting started

  1. 1

Register your source — point InfraScope at vCenter, SDDC Manager or VCF Fleet Manager. Credentials are verified before they are stored, and encrypted at rest.

  2. 2

Discover the estate — hosts, clusters, VMs, datastores, networks and every PCI device are read and stored, on the schedule you set.

  3. 3

Assess against your target — the estate is scored against Broadcom's compatibility data: 50% hardware, 30% drivers, 20% software.

  4. 4

Act on the plan — take the recommended upgrade path, the remediation plan, and the delivery programme behind it.

Frequently asked questions

Does InfraScope need internet access?

No. Discovery, scoring, reporting and licence verification all work with no outbound route. The licence is verified offline against a signed entitlement file.

Does any estate data leave our network?

No. InfraScope connects outward to your managers and stores everything on the appliance.

What does it need to connect to?

vCenter at minimum. SDDC Manager, VCF Fleet Manager, NSX, vRLCM and VxRail Manager add coverage for the components they own.

What permissions does it need?

Read-only is sufficient for discovery. InfraScope reads inventory and configuration; it does not change your estate.

How long until we get an answer?

Discovery takes minutes to hours depending on estate size. The assessment runs in minutes after that.

How is the readiness score calculated?

50% hardware, 30% drivers and 20% software, banded at 85, 70 and 50. Every contributing check is listed.

What if the HCL has no entry for our hardware?

It is reported as manual-verify — an explicit gap for a human to close, never silently passed or failed. It scores half credit rather than none, so an unknown does not read as a failure.

I fixed a finding — why has the score not moved?

The score records what the estate looked like when the analysis ran, so marking a finding resolved does not retroactively change it. Re-run the analysis once the fix is in place and the new run will show the new figure.

Can we move an assessment between appliances?

Yes, via portable export. The archive carries no credentials by design; they are re-entered and re-verified on arrival.

What happens when the licence expires?

It degrades rather than detonates. There is a 14-day grace period first; after it, registering a source, syncing and running an analysis stop, but signing in still works, every existing assessment and finding stays readable, and no administrator is locked out.

Who can see what?

There are two roles. Administrators run the appliance — users, projects, certificates, licences, backups and the audit log. Assessment SMEs see only the projects they are a member of, and an archived project stops being visible to them immediately. Everything either role does is recorded in the audit log.

How long does a session last?

Two clocks run at once: 30 minutes of inactivity, and 8 hours from sign-in that nothing extends. You are warned before either expires. Five failed sign-ins for the same identifier within 15 minutes locks it out.

Which checks does the assessment run?

Twenty-four pre-upgrade checks across vCenter, ESXi, drivers, vSAN, networking, identity, storage, SDDC Manager, Aria and VxRail, each rated Critical, Mandatory or Recommended. Some are answered by Broadcom's vSphere Diagnostic Tool when you supply an SSH credential; without one they report as not-applicable rather than guessing.

Do I get the reports as files?

Yes — a Word report, a PowerPoint deck and an Excel plan, all generated on the appliance from the same data the console shows, so the three cannot disagree. They are downloaded when you ask for them and never stored on the appliance.

When to come to us

The appliance answers questions about itself offline, from the help catalogue that ships in the OVA. These are the questions it deliberately will not answer, because a confident reply would be a fabricated one — they come to us instead.

  • Entitlement, renewals and key reissue

The appliance verifies a licence offline. It holds no record of what was purchased.

  • A host the HCL calls unsupported that you believe is supported

InfraScope reports Broadcom's published data. It does not arbitrate it.

  • A figure that looks wrong, or a screen that will not load

A reproducible defect needs a human and a build number, not a guess.

  • Session timeouts, TLS the console cannot install, network reconfiguration

Appliance-level change is deliberately not self-service.

  • VCF 9.x and Fleet Manager against a production 9.x estate

That path is not yet verified end to end against a real 9.x fleet.

  • Anything about your contract, timeline or commercial terms

Not something the appliance knows or should speculate about.

Documentation

Where else to look

Deployment and administration guides ship with the product rather than living here, so they always match the version you are running.

In-product help

InfraScope ships its own help: every screen and dialog documented, guided troubleshooters, and search — all of it offline, inside the appliance. Open Help & Support in the console, or press Ctrl + / anywhere.

Whitepapers
